As everyone has started talking about the cricket world cup 2011 happening in India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh most of the fans discussing the amount of prize money ICC re-announced which is more then double the previous announcement.  Yes its has been raised from USD 4 million to USD 10 million.

All this has been done just to reflect the importance of the ICC’s flagship competition, which was on a low after the start of IPL.  If you compare the cricket world cup 2011 prize money with world cup 2007 its double the previous i.e. USD 5 million.

As there would be 49 matches totality, first match will happen on 19th February 2011 host India and Bangladesh at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur at 08:30 GMT (14:30 local/IST).
