South Africa take on Netherlands in a Group B match of the CWC 2011. The Proteas are one of the top favourites to win the title while Netherlands are comparatively only an also ran. So Grame Smith, the South Africa captain should not be too worried about the outcome of this match. Or should he be?
Topping Group B can have a very good benefit. It is very, very likely that New Zealand would finish fourth in Group A. Finishing first in this group means playing them in the quarter final, and that is something that all the teams would want to. All the other three potential QF opponents are very, very dangerous side and South Africa would be keen to avoid them as far off as possible.
Once the World Cup reaches the knock out stage it becomes a bit of a lottery as you can expect to lose to any big team on a given day.
Netherlands were impressive against England. It almost looked like we were going to see the first upset of the World Cup but that did not happen. Against, West Indies however they really floundered. Can they come back to the party tomorrow?
The Netherlands sure has the talent with the batting. In fact if Dirk Nannes had not deserted the Dutch camp, this could be a very good team. However the ICC would be happy with the progress that these team has made. They look like a potential very good cricket team of the future.
